Cody Pierce was in a freak accident early Saturday Morning while heading to the deer camp. He either hit a fallen tree that was accross the road or it fell on him as he was driving, we are still not sure.
However, he sustained serious life threatening injuries, (brain bleeding, skull fractures, and most of the bones on one side of his face were crushed).
He has worked as an Electrician all his young life, many times traveling on the road for work. But currently was without insurance. He has a wife, a young son ans 2 bonus daughters.
He is still in ICU but they were able to extubate, taking him off the vent yesterday. We are not even sure at this point how many reconstructive surgeries he will need to replace the crushed bones in his face. He is strong and we are confident he will continue improving over the next several weeks. Once the Doctor's feel it is safe they will begin immediately with surgery.
We appreciate all the calls, texts, prayers and good vibes being sent his way. If you can donate, know your help is greatly appreciated. Regardless, please keep the prayers coming his way. Again thank you ALL for your love and support!
❤Just a little funny to end a serious post❤
We got to face time with him yesterday for the 1st time since being extubated. He is still pretty medicated to keep him calm so he is a little.loopy but he made sure to tell us "They keep telling me I can't leave yet, but I'm getting off work at 5:30 and I will see yall
then"
Thank you ALL again. Much love to the Pierce family.
