Cody's Cancer Costs

Hi!

My name is Josette, and I'm raising funds to help my son, Cody, pay for his medical expenses related to treating his Stage 2 Testicular Cancer.

Cody is 23 and was diagnosed last November. Thankfully, he has a job that has good health insurance and is allowing him to work remotely during much of this journey, but the co-pays and other expenses have really added up. In just roughly 4 months, he has had surgery, countless CTs, x-rays, ultrasounds, and blood lab work, as well as an unexpected hospital stay due to pulmonary embolisms. He is halfway through 23 chemo infusions, most of which keep us in the hospital for about 7 hours at a time. Like most young adults, he should be worrying about saving money to buy a house and start a family, but cancer has interrupted those plans for the moment. He has a very positive attitude, and of course he's getting some help, but the added stress of working just to keep up with the medical bills is weighing him down.

Those who know me know that I'm a pretty private person, and asking for anything is not easy. However, with my husband's cancer diagnosis in 2021 and now Cody's, the financial and emotional strain is real. Our goal of 15k will only cover the out-of-pocket expenses that we've had so far, so anything exceeding that goal will go toward his future expenses. He has many years of tests, scans, and oncology visits ahead of him.
