I recently had surgery to close a hole in my stomach that has been making me sick for the past few years now, Although I was extremely hopeful it would work and I would start the road to recovery... it wasn’t! After talking with teams and teams of doctors there is only 1 other surgery they are able to do to get me back to living a semi-normal life, they are going to have to remove most of my stomach (hopefully saving enough that I’ll still be able to eat) it’s a very high risk surgery with lots of possible complications! If everything goes good I’ll have to take 1-2months off of work and father/husband duties. If there are complications (which they anticipate there will be, considering how much weight I’ve lost and how sick I’ve been) I’ll need almost 4 months off. This is something that scares the hell out of me but at this point it’s the only option to becoming normal-ish again. Kohen (my son) needs to know what it’s like to have a dad that’s not sick all the time and always in and out of the hospital, ever since my son was born I’ve had this chronic illness, I’ve still been the best father I can be but my son deserves to see his dad healthy! I’ve always had tubes/drains that prevent me from swimming with him, and my strength is so low I get fatigued way to fast. I’ve debated A LONG time about doing a go fund me because I know there’s a lot of other people that need help also, but my medical bills are getting out of control and it’s going to continue getting out of control.recently our insurance company has changed and they are now denying EVERYTHING!! I’m hoping this all eventually gets worked out, but as of now I have to pay for everything out of pocket, I had an MRI a couple days ago that cost me 2,400, I’ve also been on a feeding tube for the past 5 weeks with no food or water, strictly tube feeds. The insurance was paying for the machines but they are now denying it also. The machine by itself is costing me 25 dollars a day for rental fees, then I have the tube food that they don’t cover which is costing around 200 per week. With being self employed I’m going to take a big hit with income while being laid up in the hospital while trying to heal. I’m very thankful for people just taking the time to read my story, and anything helps. I’ve had so many people asking what’s going on and it’s been a hard subject to talk about. But at this point I think this is the best way for everyone to know my story. Thank you to everyone and let’s keep positive vibes I get the speedy and correct recovery I need.
