Cohoes High School Football

Hi my name is Jacqueline DeChiaro and I am trying to raise funds for the Cohoes High Varsity Football Team. My children have participated in the Football program for over 10 years now and have benefitted from the sportsmanship, comradery and leadership the program provides. Our High School has a high level of needs with more than 60% of our families qualifying for free/reduced lunch. Our district does a good job providing for the academic needs and while providing athletic opportunities, the funds are limited for the extras that bring a program to the next level. The football program just over 10 years ago had 3 levels with great participation. With a loss of coaching staff the program started to decline, it reached a point where a varsity level team could't be fielded one year and we no longer have a JV.

A new coaching staff started 3 years ago and we are starting to see a change. The first year they did not win a game, the following 1 win and this past season 2 wins! Besides the record the participation numbers are increasing and the dedication of the athletes during and off season is showing.

We are requesting funds for a 5 Coach Cobalt Plus System - a head set system for the coaches on game day. They currently are using one that is 10+ years old that has just 2 headsets. Communication is a huge factor in coaching a game. Having the headsets for all the coaches will increase the communication during the game and bring about more success for our athletes.
