Cold Side of the Pillow - A Student Film

The Story

Welcome to a world where humans hibernate. Archie and his parents visit a lonesome cottage owned by his distant uncle, known as "Uncle Keyboard", to celebrate the holiday of "Dormiebat", taking place a week before hibernation across the globe. Struggling to get along at first, Archie discovers that Keyboard isn't as stubborn or scary as he may seem.

Aim of the Story

Uncle Keyboard is inspired by an actual person. He appeared stubborn, intimidating, and ruthless. It was later revealed that he had lost two grandchildren while they were babies on two separate occasions, and that he was only the way he was because he was struggling. Many people have similar life events such as this, and they deserve to be heard. The aim of this film is to show that not everyone has a completely joyous time over the holidays, while also having an alternative spin to the story and placing these characters in an unusual world.
