Cole Needs Your Immediate Help

His name is Cole. He was surrendered to the shelter because his owner is moving.  Shelter staff said Cole was in excruciating pain. The shelter doesn't have an orthopedic surgeon on staff, and Cole needed help badly and urgently. They asked if rescue could take Cole. He didn't have a chance otherwise. Cole is a little chihuahua mix boy, only 2 years old and 15 pounds.  I picked Cole up from the shelter today and took him to Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital where he was evaluated in the emergency room.  He'll be seen by the orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday and it's very likely he'll need a  TPLO- tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy-  a surgery performed on dogs to stabilize the stifle joint after ruptures of the cranial cruciate ligament.

We're going on faith and the intolerability of letting him lay in a stainless steel kennel in pain beyond what most of us can imagine that we'll be able to raise the necessary funds. Cole didn't ask to be discarded when he needed his family the most. We want to restore Cole to full health and find him a family who will love and cherish him forever. Thank you.
