Support Cole Petersen's Recovery

Donation protected
On September 3, Cole was involved in a four vehicle collision near his home in Denver, CO. Cole was struck near the front of his vehicle and collided into two other cars before flipping multiple times and ultimately coming to a stop. As a result, he suffered numerous critical injuries to involve multiple skull fractures, significant brain swelling/bleeding, nearly losing his right ear and various other lesser injuries. Cole was rushed to Swedish Medical Center in Denver and was unresponsive for over 14 hours before regaining consciousness. He was placed on a ventilator for two days as he underwent various scans and testing in the ICU. Since then, Cole's progress has been nothing short of incredible as he has slowly began to walk with assistance and fully cognizant in all conversations. His perseverance each day and his drive to improve his speech, motor skills and coordination has been second to none. His next step is admittance into Craig Rehabilitation Hospital (a world-renowned, premier center for specialty neurorehabilitation and research for people with spinal injury and brain injury) where he will be undergoing extensive rehab for areas including: OT, PT, Speech Pathology, Emotional and Behavioral Therapy, Recreational and functional mobility. Cole's path to recovery will be long and challenging, but he is blessed with extremely loving and supportive family and friends. We are beyond thankful that God has blessed us with Cole's life as we understand the result could have been much different- but with this result comes the reality of a vast amount of hospital and rehabilitation bills, a loss of his vehicle, and the reduced ability to personally work or alleviate many of these financial hurdles. With that all in consideration, this fund is being created to combat these looming burdens and allow Cole the peace of mind to focus solely on his recovery process so that he can get back to being the loving and active father we all know him to be. Anything that can be given is appreciated and is directly contributing to getting Cole's witty, overly-sarcastic, and outgoing personality back into the fight.
