Cole’s Dream Trip to Yankees Stadium

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carissa Siekmann and I’m starting this fundraiser for my husband, Cole Siekmann.

He was recently diagnosed with Cerebellum Ataxia. He started showing signs that mimic ALS, and we grew concerned because his mother passed of ALS.
after many tests we received the diagnosis over the phone and given news there is no cure.

This disease is genetic in nature, and will effect his balance, motor function of his limbs, eye movement, and possible cognition. We are unsure how his disease will present in Cole. We don’t know if this will be a fast process or a slow process. The goal is to be as active as possible before being wheelchair bound.

We have reached out to find other opinions and therapies. These therapy’s can help improve a baseline but unsure how much it will improve. These therapies are very pricey. Cole’s wishes are to not spend the money on himself but to get our home ready for when he can no longer walk; and live our Best life with our Children, family and friends. He wants to take time building a deck with his sons and daughter and making memories while he physically can with out restrictions.
My husband is so worried of becoming a burden to his family. I have assured him he would never be a burden.

Cole has always been supportive of my dreams. I tend to be the dreamer and he tends to be the realist. But he helps me organize and make things happen.

So I want to Dream for him this time! My husband would never ask but I will beg and ask to whomever will listen:).

Cole is a huge Yankees fan and has been since he was a little boy, always wanting to go to Yankees stadium, but never has.
Cole grew up playing ball most of his life, played ball w his cousin Don Mattingly, and later was asked to play for the Royals minor league. He went on to later and played softball around the country. It’s safe to say baseball is his true love after Christ of course:). He loves watching his sons play ball and enjoys coaching Carson now as his catching coach. We have always joked before his diagnosis that he wanted his ashes secretly spread at Yankees stadium. I always thought it was funny picturing me sneaking around trying to get his ashes on the field without anyone noticing because I’m all in. Let’s make it happen!

It doesn’t seem so funny now that we are where we are. But I understand baseball became his love because he grew up w a difficult home life and it was a way to escape and dream!

So will you help me show my husband we can still dream! he can still dream have big dreams, like he first did as a little boy. No matter what happens and what life throws at us we can dream and our kids will be blessed seeing it in us.

God will walk this thru with us and he will even carry us. God is still good and no matter what, that will never change. And we will never say God isn’t for us. For when our circumstances may change and Cole’s body may fail him, Let Me Be Clear Jesus will not. Even in this we will still love Christ and he is still good.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

jeremiah 29:11

Someday all of our bodies will fail us no one is immune. I know Cole wants to live his life as best as he can as long as he can. He loves his children and I look forward to watching his dreams come tru and making memories w him!
Please will you help me! I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he is handed these tickets!

This is a surprise so please share w family and friends.

I have been reaching out to Yankees to do the first pitch of the game and that’s not open to the public so I’m looking for other cool ideas if anyone has any!

Thank you for everyone who took the time to read this!
