Colette Conroy Tour De Connemara Memorial
Myself and Conor will be donning some very unforgiving lycra and hauling our asses around 80km of the Tour de Connemara on May 27th.
Current fitness levels are pretty low post-baby so this will be incredibly challenging as my arse cheeks haven't seen a bike in a very long time :)
Sore arses aside we are doing the cycle in tribute to a brilliant and brave woman who sadly slipped away from us on April 8th after battling cancer for over a year and a half. My cousin Colette was from Connemara and we will be riding through her neighborhood and remembering fond memories along the way.
Colette was a horse fanatic. As such there is no better charity than the Irish Horse Welfare Trust to fundraise for in her memory. Please give what you can and for the love of God please light some candles for us!
There is a halfway food pitstop in Cashel if any locals want to fuel us with some bananas :)
The Irish Horse Welfare Trust, was set up in 2001 to help the plight of neglected horses in Ireland. It was established to provide a dedicated centre that is equipped for dealing with the rehabilitation and re-homing horses. They currently care for an average of 65 horses and ponies at their Equine Centre in Woodenbridge, Co Wicklow.
