Honoring Colin: A Memorial Bench at Hemlock Ravine

Please help us create a lasting memorial for Colin Chalmers, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, by contributing to a memorial bench along the beautiful Hemlock Ravine trails in Halifax.

Hemlock Ravine holds a special place in our hearts. It was an area well known to Colin during his childhood, a place of adventure and exploration, and is where my family and I spend time on a daily basis.

Our goal is to raise the necessary funds to purchase and install a memorial bench through HRM's Civic Support Program. This will include the cost of the bench, a commemorative plaque, and the installation fees.

Proposed Bench Details:

Location: A scenic spot along the Hemlock Ravine trails (photos attached).

Bench Style: Black Metal

Plaque Inscription: In Memory of Colin Chalmers (1981-2019) "Among the Wildflowers"

Cost: $3,400

In memory of Colin's infinite patience and quiet appreciation for nature, this bench will offer a space for reflection and remembrance. Friends, family, and the community can come here to feel his calming presence and find peace in the ravine's tranquility.
