Colleen Vanderlip’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

Hi! My name is Heidi and my sister-in-law, Colleen Vanderlip has had a recent diagnosis of Inflammatory Breast Cancer stage 4. It is with a very heavy heart that there has come a day that I feel the need to use this platform to ask for help. My sister-in-law is only 39 years old. She is a wonderful mom, wife, daughter, and sister. Colleen and my sister, Jamie have three beautiful boys, my nephews, Gilligan 4, Ambrose 2, and Roark 1. This diagnosis was just handed to us as a family right after Thanksgiving. Colleen has been to MD Anderson in Texas seeking treatment and here locally in Orlando. After many tests, the cancer has metastasized to other areas of her body. At this point in time, Colleen will have to receive treatment the rest of her life. Colleen has triple negative cancer and this cancer is incurable. Our hearts are heavy with sadness and she deserves to be here to raise her boys with her wife. As most people know, cancer is very expensive. Colleen has missed many days from work and copays for all the tests, scans, and chemo therapy is financially draining. They have 3 boys in daycare as they are not old enough for school yet. We know that it is right after the holidays and understand if you cannot donate. We do believe in prayers, miracles, and positive energy.
