Working as part of a tree care company, Collin started his Wednesday morning on a job site in Peru, MA which turned into one of the scariest mornings for Collin and his family as he was life flighted from Dalton, MA to Baystate Medical Center after a very unexpected accident. Collin was ran over by a wood chipper and sustained life threatening injuries. Multiple fractures and injuries from the waist down put him in the care of the trauma team, he became stable late morning and then underwent two major surgeries to help reconstruct broken bones and close open lacerations. Doctors have expressed that he is starting a long road of recovery to hopefully be able to walk again. His spirits are high, and with the prayers and support of friends and family he can start healing. Collin is a hard working man, an admirable person, an amazing father, a supportive fiancé, a loving son, grandson, nephew and brother. Any raised funds will be put towards travel expenses, hotel stays for the family as the Covid restrictions do not allow overnight stays, food (besides the awesome hospital turkey sandwiches and canned soup), and taking the financial weight off of Collin and his fiancé, Mariah, while he focuses on being able to walk again to get back to his job. Once he is released from Baystate Medical he is going to be transported to a rehabilitation facility in Westfield for a couple of weeks and will need long term physical therapy once home and hopefully bypass any additional surgeries.
