Diagnosed with Colon Caner, Help Pamela

Donation protected
Hello dear friends, family, and community,

My name is Fern, and I am sharing a deep, personal story for my friend, Pamela Fitzgerald (60), who is in great need of her community’s support on her behalf.

First, and most important, thank you so much for visiting our page to read about how you can help Pamela. We appreciate the time and thought you have taken to learn how you can play a part in keeping a roof over our friend and supporting her in her fight against colon cancer.

Pamela’s Story

"You are going to have to find another type of employment," the doctor said confirming to Pamela that she has cancer. The type of cancer- stage three colon cancer was detected through a routine check-up.

Cancer, itself, is scary to face alone but to hear the words "find other employment" when she has worked so hard on establishing her cleaning business can be scarier. In today's age, items such as eggs are becoming a luxury than a commodity. In a matter of days, the perception of being healthy and now being unemployed faces Pamela. Emotions of shock, surprise, and fear of the future about how she will gain employment during this time have not stopped her positive outlook on life. She has continued to work up to the point of chemotherapy, which starts next Friday week and limits her ability to work her current house cleaning job. On top of chemo, she had to do iron fusions due to extremely low iron levels. Her spirit to work has not stopped, and she searches for an "at-home" type of employment.

Over the last three years, I have had the great pleasure of getting to know Pamela and have found her to be a hard-working, humble, and caring individual. She does not deserve these harrowing circumstances. With bills mounting and debt quickly swallowing up Pamela, she is looking for any support that can be given. Please, consider helping Pamela in her time of need. She is truly grateful for any donations you can provide during these strenuous times.

Right now, she needs the help of her community to support her in her transition and difficult time. With limiting her ability to work her current job, she needs to pay rent, get groceries, and pay for gas to and from the doctor visits. Eventually, the bill from the procedures will come and have to be paid. She will need help from those around her.

She has started chemo and will do chemo every other Tuesday. With chemo, we know it is not easy on the body, so she must rest after each treatment, which means fewer days working.

Pamela's family is close by but not able to support her fully. Pamela still helps out her mother, who has her own health issues like dementia and is a survivor of colon cancer as well.
