The Colony HS track and field team is made up of 100+ students. The boys have won regions the past two years and the girls won two years ago and were state champions a couple of years before that. We're a very large team and we do not cut anyone from it. As coaches, our primary emphasis is helping students become interested in life-long fitness, making healthy choices in nutrition and lifestyle, and to become great citizens. Along the way they learn to run, throw, and jump competitively.
The cost of running a program this size is expensive. Not only do we need to purchase equipment (shot put, discus, training aids, etc.), but we also need money to rent buses for track meets and help defray airplane tickets costs for a long-awaited trip to Kodiak. Last year we were able to purchase new uniforms. We'd love to finish that plan and outfit each member with team warm ups. Durable outfits may run $100 apiece.
We've tried selling "Pasta Feed" type tickets and have even gotten sponsors for events in the past. Those haven't been very successful. They also take precious time away from the students, parents, and the coaches. We're hoping you'll take a minute and support our team financially as we strive for another successful season.
