Color Away Cancer - Luna Perrone & Cole Schanda

IMS Eagle Nation is coming out on Saturday, March 4 to support two of our very own!

As many of you know two of our eagles, Luna Perrone and Cole Schanda are fighting cancer. To help celebrate and support these two incredible kids and their families with all the financial aspects that come along with treatment - we are having a Color Fun Run with music, dancing, and all the orange and purple powder we can find!

All proceeds from that event, along with all donations raised here, will go towards Luna and Cole as they SOAR above cancer!

Luna is a 12 year old girl battling bone cancer. She was first diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in her pelvis at 9 years old. After a hard fought year long battle she was in remission. After being off chemotherapy for just under a year on 9/15/22, her family received the devastating news that Luna had relapsed and she started chemotherapy immediately the next day. She will need proton therapy radiation again which last time left her with 3rd degree burns that took a year to heal. She recently finished her 6th round of chemo - which they are hoping is the halfway point for treatments.

Cole is a 12 year old 7th grader at IMS who lives in Jupiter and has an older brother that also went to IMS. He is in the pre-teacher academy and has been really enjoying it this year. He is a big fan of listening to music and talking with his friends.

What his family thought was just the flu around Halloween turned out to be Leukemia (AML). Ever since they found out he’s been mostly hospital bound at Joe DiMaggio’s Childrens Hospital in Hollywood, FL undergoing multiple rounds of treatment. Cole is such a positive kid and his spirits have remained high during this time despite it being a rough road. He is determined to get healthy so he can get back to IMS next year.
