Colton's Care Packs
Donation protected
Hello Everyone! Jeff, Owen, Khloe and I have decided that we want to celebrate Colton’s birthday this year a little different this year than the past 3 years. We want to honor Colton and show love to others in the process. We want to be able to help other families who are hospitalized with their children. A lot of people have asked if they can donate money and have us purchase the items needed. We think this can make it easier for you to do so. Thank you so much for considering donating to Colton's Care Packs! God bless!!
We have come up with “Colton’s Care Packs”. They will go to parents/guardians of children who are hospitalized at Salem Hospital in the PICU and NICU and pediatric unit.
If you know Jeff and I and don’t know the story of our son Colton, here is the short version. Colton was born at OHSU on March 21, 2013, and he had a rough start to life. We were in the NICU for six weeks for his initial hospital stay. After being on life support and having hundreds of seizures, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and west syndrome. We were able to go home together as a family, but our time together was short lived—we spent over half of his life at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Colton was a tough little fighter. He lived for 300 days and taught us how to love in ways we didn’t know they could.
This year, to celebrate his life and help others in similar situations, we want to give back and support families going through a tough time. It’s never easy having a child or a grandchild in the hospital and we want to try and make things a little easier for families that are in that situation.
We have purchased enough supplies for 250 care packs with travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a shaving kit. We are hopeful that by teaming up with both our employers and you that we can double or triple what we have already purchased and bless some local families!!
We are looking for all of the above listed supplies and deodorant, facial wipes, or contact solution and contact cases. We are excited to work with Salem Hospital to provide local families a little help during difficult times and honor Colty in the process. Thank you for your consideration. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store. We have been so blessed by so many others, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate Colton by giving to others. We will be collecting items from 03/13-03/31.
