On July 30, 1993, Colton Alexander Stout came into this world with a smile on his face and a heart made of gold. Even as he got older, that never changed. That is, until I received a phone call from a nurse at UT Hospital in Knoxville, TN.
On January 30, 2014, in Oak Ridge, TN, my wonderful 20 year old son, Colton Alexander Stout, was in a horrific, fatal car wreck. In the blink of an eye, he was gone from everyone that loved him and in the presence God Himself. Colton packed more in 20 1/2 years than anyone I know. He was a volunteer firefighter for Marlow Volunteer Fire Department, an EMT by profession for Campbell County EMS, a substitute teacher for

the Anderson County School System and part time student at Roane State Community College. He also taught Emergency Responder Class two nights a week for Campbell County EMS in TN. In the second photo, Colton is 2nd from the left in the green shirt. Ever since he was a preschooler, he wanted to be a fireman. He achieved all his childdhood dreams in exactly 20 years and 6 months.
To honor Colton and keep his dreams and memory alive in a way that stands for what he believed in most, helping people, we have started a 501(c)(3) in his name. Our goal is to award 2 scholarships by the end of the year. One going to a student whose dream is to be an EMT and the other to be awarded to a paramedic who wishes to further their career and be a Critical Care Paramedic by attending Roane State Community College.
Our first fundraiser is a 5K, on August 2, 2014 in Oak Ridge, TN called Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride. I hope you feel led to help send deserving men and women to school to help them acheive their dreams.
Thank you,
His mother, Tracy and broother, Conor Stout-Powers
and the committee members of the Colton Stout Scholarship Fund, Inc.
