Help Columbia Raaga host a Carnatic concert!

We are CU Raaga, a club for the promotion of South Asian classical music at Columbia University. We perform traditional Carnatic and Hindustani classical pieces, as well as fusions with Western, jazz, and other styles of music. Raaga also hosts several concerts by eminent performing artists, student recitals,

lecture-demonstrations, and field trips to local concerts.

Currently, we are fundraising to host our first official event, a violin duet concert with eminent musicians Shri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Smt. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, accompanied by Shri KV Gopalakrishnan and Shri Guru Raghavendra on percussion. We require funding for artist compensation and travel, AV tech, venue rentals, marketing & publicity, and other miscellaneous costs associated with running an event of this caliber.

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, no matter the amount. Proceeds raised in excess of our goal will go towards Raaga's other initiatives, which include hosting more student recitals, producing studio-quality music videos and recordings, and inviting other professional musicians to perform at Columbia.
