Colville Indian Reservation Fire Relief
People's homes and lives have been completely destroyed.
Over 80 homes burned to the ground on the Colville Indian Reservation during Washington State's Cold Springs Fire this past summer; while there was an incredible outpouring of material donations during initial relief efforts and drives, finanicial contributions are still needed.
I am asking for donations throughout this holiday weekend. On Monday morning, I will send all funds to Billy Nicholson II, Chief Financial Officer at the Colville Indian Reservation, who is over seeing fire relief for the residents in Nespelem, WA.
The people of the Colville Indian Reservation have been in shock and devastation since losing their homes in the horrific fire. Healing is made only harder by the presence of COVID-19. Every dollar rebuilds what was burned. Every dollar helps and is deeply appreciated.
As you reach out to your friends and family this weekend, reach out to your Native American neighbors in need.
A mutual aid I help run, WashMasks.org, gathered bedding, toiletries, and food for Colville for the immediate need created by the fires this summer. I personally drove a load of donations to Nespelem, WA. While news of the fires have left our headlines, I would like to continue to amplify the need.
