The African-American communities don't seem to understand the gravity of this situation and I believe seeing Mr. Phillips in this state of health will put it all into perspective.
MARCH 2020 -- Representatives for Comedian Baldhead Phillips – an Englewood, Chicago native – have confirmed that the comedian was hospitalized shortly after returning home to Atlanta, Georgia last week following symptoms of COVID-19. Mr. Phillips’ confirmed a positive result after he returned to Atlanta after traveling during the “Alpha Male Comedy Tour” and the “Comedy Over Depression” tour between Los Angeles, Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Chicago. He is now recovering in an Atlanta
area hospital.
“We all need to be more careful than ever before during this time,” Comedian Baldhead Phillips cautions. He is currently resting and remains in good spirits while awaiting the results of his COVID-19 test results.
“Mr. Phillips and his family are working closely with healthcare providers to monitor the situation closely,” said Sabrina Childress, publicist to the Comedy Over Depression comedian.
“This COVID-19 situation is very real and very serious. Please take the proper precautions and stay at home whenever possible. We ask that you pray for the health of one of Englewood’s (Chicago) finest.”
The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 can cause mild to more severe respiratory illness. In a small
proportion of patients, COVID-19 can cause death, particularly among those who are older or who have chronic medical conditions. Symptoms include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
