Come Ride With Me to Stop Cancer

Donation protected
I am a 23-year-old racecar driver who lost my mother almost four years ago on March 20th 2012 to lung cancer. She had never smoked a day in her life but unfortunately developed stage four cancer in 2008. She battled it for four years when she was only given a few months to live.

About a week before she passed, I was sitting with her talking about my week at school when all of a sudden she got very serious. She looked me straight in the eyes and said," I want you to do what you love and chase your dream of being an Indy car driver.”  From that day forward, I promised her that I would chase it and dedicate my every day efforts to making it come true. Leading up to that day, my mom never let me race, even though I would ask her every year to let me give it a go. Receiving her blessing was the best gift she ever gave me other than being the best mother in the world.

The following summer, my father and I traveled out to Road America and completed the racing school so that I could race in the Skip Barber Racing series in 2013. I passed with flying colors and was even nominated for the Indy Car Academy that the Skip Barber series ran. My first year was full of learning experiences and some great success. I scored multiple podiums and fought for a couple of wins against guys who had been racing since they could walk. One thing led to another and I moved up to the Professional F1600 Championship in 2014 where I did not finish any lower 5th place with the exception of one race, which was a dnf.  I missed winning the entire championship by 3 points but was honored the rookie of the year finishing with 8 podiums and 1 win.  I was also nominated for the Team USA Scholarship, as I was the top American at that level.

In 2015, I moved up again to compete on the Mazda Road to Indy in the USF2000 class where I gained a lot of knowledge and scored in the top 5 multiple times as a rookie. For 2016, I plan on fighting for the USF2000 Championship so I can move up the latter system with the ultimate goal of Indy Car.

This is more than a dream for me and I want to give back to the cancer society that helped comfort my mother and family throughout the most difficult years of our lives. I would like to give 10% of all that we raise to the American Cancer society because I want to help others who are in similar situations that my family was in. I also want to do this for my mom who motivates me every day to be the best person I can be and know that this is what she would want. I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to pursue my dream and am excited to see what’s ahead. I thank the Lord every day for the skills he has blessed me with and for the opportunity to pursue my dream.

I am asking for donations to help fund my 2016 race season and will be giving 10% of all that we raise to the American Cancer society.  I am starting the Ride with Me campaign so others can ride along in spirit just like my mother rides with me every race on the back of my helmet. I will put the names of those who meet the requirements below printed and deslayed on the rear wing of my car for the 2016 season.
I am very grateful for any donation and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
