Come Together! IRRVA Van Fundraiser

Tax deductible
Help people come together! Funds are needed to purchase a van to transport refugees and immigrants here in Albuquerque to the IRRVA Center where they can take ESL classes, participate in After-School Tutoring or Early Childhood classes, gain gardening or sewing skills, and gather together with welcoming and dedicated volunteers from the Albuquerque community.

By donating to this cause, you are  empowering people to come together! IRRVA has been overwhelmed recently with an outpouring of interest from potential volunteers who want to help run programming and build meaningful relationships with our newest neighbors.  However, most of the Middle Eastern and African refugees in town do not have a feasible method of transportation to get to the IRRVA Center, and sadly, some refugees have faced increased harrassment in recent days while using public transportation. You can help bring people together safely by contributing a tax-deductible gift to IRRVA so a van can be purchased to pick up participants and bring them to the Center.

Immigrant and Refugee Resource Village of Albuquerque (IRRVA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safety net for refugees, immigrants and their families--most of whom are from Africa, the Middle East and Asia, as well as those from Latin America, and other vulnerable community members--through a variety of programs, resources, and support. Co-founded by Nkazi and Lungile Sinandile, themselves immigrants from South Africa, the goal of IRRVA is to help its participants make a successful transition to life in their new community, including social-emotional, physical, educational, and financial well-being. The long-term goal is for IRRVA community members to assume leadership roles within IRRVA and the greater community- sharing their individual talents and gifts with their community. IRRVA provides a level and quality of support that speaks directly to the hearts of its community participants. www.irrva.com

One of IRRVA's programs, New Mexico Women's Global Pathways (NMWGP), focuses on empowering women. NMGWP currently works with African, Middle Eastern, Asian and American low- or no-income women and girls, the majority of whom are survivors of violence, conflict, persecution and political upheaval. They have lost everything- family, home and health. Some are widows or victims of rape and torture. NMWGP's programs help girls and women receive the training and support needed to be self-sufficient economically, educationally, and socially and become leaders in our community. www.nmwgp.org

Thank you for helping Albuquerque be a welcoming place for refugees and immigrants! Your tax deductible gift to IRRVA towards the purchasing of van allows people to come together, contributing in turn to a stronger society for all!
