Kids shouldn't have to worry about anything! Unfortunately that's not the case. Some kids have to worry about violence, sickness, food insecurity, tragedy, and more. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, kids are now worrying about safety and protecting themselves from the virus, loneliness with the lack of social interaction and missing their friends, and the pressures of succeeding in distance learning.
Throughout the pandemic, my son has been doing his best to comfort as many kids as possible with his "comfort bags" that include fun and learning activities, books, masks, healthy snacks, and personal care products. This winter he wants to keep donating his bags but including blankets and warm weather gear like hats, gloves, scarves, etc. to make this season feel a little more safe, a little less lonely, and more LOVED than ever. Every kid deserves that!
A blanket is only a symbol, but every act of kindness counts. One of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Please, please, please help C.J. to reach his goal of comforting 1,000 kids this winter. But even if you don't donate here, start your own project. Make an impact. Like CJ says, "Be the change! If we all pitch in, we can change the world. No kind act is too small and everyone can give....even kids! I say especially kids.
