Comfort and Care for Mark Bongolan

Aloha! My name is Shan. My uncle Mark Brian Bongolan was originally diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer in 2022. Since then, it has been a roller coaster ride of emotions, countless appointments, cancer treatments, highs & lows. He has now reached stage 4 cancer.

Mark is currently being treated at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu and his family have been by his side this last week when doctors had given him just days left of life. Today, he continues to make tiny progressions here and there but unfortunately, the prognosis per his doctor is yet the same and his complications are incurable. Congestive heart failure and kidney failure are at the top of his list along with the Sarcoma.

The family’s goal is to get him out of the hospital and into hospice care - they are currently on a waitlist. As each day passes while his family sits bedside him the medical bills continue to build. Any amount donated will go towards helping the ohana pay for his continued medical expenses and keeping him comfortable as his time is nearing. Today Doctor said best scenario is weeks to months at most “on a good day”.
