Comfort and care for Robin
Donation protected
In April of 2018 our mother Robin was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and brain. After 6 months of treatment and radiation, she was declared in remission as the tumors had stopped growing. She has been and will continue to receive treatment (Keytruda) for the rest of her life.
Not long after getting the news of remission she started experiencing excruciating headaches. After further testing her doctors found that she has necrosis (scar tissue) from the radiation to the brain. This has affected every part of her daily life. She has been on several medications and steroids to help with the pain.
In the last few months the debilitating pain has returned and has become unmanageable. Recently her scans have shown that the necrosis has either spread or that the tumor has grown. At the moment our mother is unable to do much on her own and is in need of 24/7 care and supervision. Her prescriptions and medical bills are piling up. Our step father Bruce, has been trying to work and bring in some income but things have gotten to a point where he will need to be with her at all times.
We will have more answers as to what treatments or surgeries will be needed in early October.
Our mother is an incredibly strong woman and has had to endure so much. She is not one to ask for help or let anyone know of any financial struggles. This has been such a long and strenuous road for her and Bruce. We would like to ask for any help so that Bruce can stay home and help care for our mom. The prognosis for stage 4 lung cancer is not good but she has come this far and we are not wanting to give up now. So if you are willing and able to donate, anything would be greatly appreciated.
