Commercial Mower for Blackwater Cricket Association (BCA)

Blackwater Cricket Association (BCA) has brought a new venue to the Hampton Roads cricket community in the form of Blackwater Cricket Ground in May 2023. All of the ground improvements to date were designed and implemented by BCA Executive Committee members and players from all teams voluntarily along with ongoing ground maintenance to keep the costs low for the cricket community.

Over the last 2 years, improvements to the ground include 2 shelters and drainage system to help keep the ground dry from rain. BCA is committed to continuing to offer exceptional playing conditions and experience to the community.

Cricket season at BCA starts early March and continues through November every year for approximately 9 months. EC members contribute 4-6 volunteer hours per week throughout the cricket season to get the ground ready before the weekend for the community's entertainment.

The biggest challenge for our volunteers over the last year and a half is the lack of proper mowing equipment for the ground. An average of 7 acres is mowed every week in preparation for the weekend tournaments.

A new commercial zero-turn lawn mower would make the job of the volunteers easier in maintaining the ground and providing the same exceptional playing conditions for the Hampton Roads Cricket Community before the 2025 Cricket season.

The below commercial mower was selected based on the best-value for the donations we receive. Attached picture and youtube video shows the area that will mowed and maintained.
