Commissioning Art for a Special Passion Project

Donation protected
Earlier this year, I had an idea. What would it be like if a Metroid movie was made? What would the story be? How would an adaptation handle the origin of a video game character like Samus Aran? It got my mind racing with possibilities and I wrote a rough script of what I would want from a Metroid movie. It isn't an actual script, but more of a detailed outline of how I'd want the movie to progress. I spent months cleaning it up to make sure this idea was as polished as possible.

But rather than just putting the idea on a fan fiction site and calling it a day, I wanted to be more ambitious since I am part of a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers. I wanted people to be able to see this and maybe even inspire someone to go even further with the concept. So to make it a proper video, I wanted to hire an artist to really show what my story would be like and voice actors to convey the emotions of my key characters.

The preview video I released had an incredible amount of positive feedback, but the viewership numbers weren't quite enough to fund the full idea I had. If I was going to do what I envisioned, I needed more money to actually pull it off. And that comes down to my artist, who goes by Daeyumi. She is incredibly talented and I can't imagine commissioning her for the sheer amount of art necessary without proper compensation. There are well over 100 scenes that she will need to draw, and I want to reward that effort.

I made sure to include examples of her art from our preview so you can see the talent on display and how much having her art means for this project. She deserves that commission for this amount of work, but that is a lot of money. More than I can afford for a project that's unlikely to make it back. But that's why this is a passion project.  I can handle paying the actors, but the art? I need some help.

If you enjoyed the preview I've included, please consider donating so I can move forward with this project and Daeyumi can get to work. If we're able to reach our goal, we can get started right away and hopefully release this before the end of the year. Seeing this project finally finished after so much would mean the world to me. If you only watched and moved on, thank for your time. Just know that I will work my absolute hardest to make this passion project the best it can be. Thank you.
