CommuniTEA. for the Community
As we build a future where Black lives can thrive, it is important that we continue to take care of ourselves and each other. We are 4 Black women who currently reside on occupied Dakota land also known as Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN. We have seen the lack of access and investment in healing resources within our communities in times of crisis and traumatization and want to contribute in a way that is meaningful.
Preparing and drinking tea is one way to enjoy the benefits that plant medicine has to offer. Tea can hold space for solitude, depression, anguish, peace, rage, joy, love. We believe tea can be a liberation libation. We see tea as a radical act of self-care and self preservation for ourselves and our community, and we maintain an abundant practice, approach, and mindset in this work.
We are land stewards, herbalists, farmers, and community members. We ultimately want to facilitate and support Black people in reclaiming their relationship to land, and plants as allies and healing medicine. We want to share how plant medicine can lend itself to our bodies in an incredibly healing and supportive way, so we will also provide a few videos on how some of the herbs in our blends can support our wellbeing.
From these funds we will distribute 2 delicious, nurturing, healing, and medicinal tea blends, to be shared at no cost. This is a moment where we are choosing to center the healing and wellness of Black people. We are fundraising for supplies, labor, and distribution costs. Please join us in supporting the community by making an investment in CommuniTEA.
In honor of ourselves, communities, plantcestors, and ancestors,
Mel, Miah, Selah, and Amber
