Community Aid for Cancer Expenses

My name is Nico (they/them/their/theirs). I am organizing this GoFundMe for my girlfriend, M'Monique (she/them/their/theirs), who is living with several chronic illnesses and two (2) types of cancer. Yes, unfortunately, you read that right: two!

Here's more, from M'Monique:

I’m M’Monique a 32 year old Black, Non-binary, Lesbian, Mother and Foster Mom. I’m a Therapist, Social Worker, Crisis Prevention Counselor Volunteer, and Grassroots Activist.

In December 2020, I was diagnosed with Spinal Lymphoma. Two months later in February 2021, I was diagnosed with Mixed Gliomas too. Due to my medical history which is Fibromyalgia, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and Sjogren’s - also, at that time I had recently recovered from Covid - doctors felt like chemotherapy wasn’t a good idea. So we tried gene therapies and a clinical trial.

At the end of Summer 2021, due to medical malpractice issues, medical racism, & fatphobia I was dropped as a patient. That’s all I can say while there is a pending investigation. I haven’t received any stable treatment since then. It’s been a whole year now.

I just got denied my fourth medical appeal for proper access to pain meds. I’m not prescribed pain meds. The only way I get pain meds is if I get admitted to a hospital or if I go to a pain clinic. With gas prices I don’t go a lot. I was stereotyped because of my parents background being drug addicts even though I’ve never used a drug in my life.

Funds raised will go towards portable oxygen refills , rent, food, gas to doctors appointments, pain clinic, and my outstanding medical bills. Because of this while I continue to fight for a doctor to give me a better treatment plan/meds, funds will also help me not stress about working so much it’s really affecting my health.
