Community Aid for Steve's Loss and Grief
Donation protected
Early this Christmas morning, our neighborhood was shaken by the sight of fire trucks and ambulances filling the street. What we soon learned was nothing short of heartbreaking: our neighbor, Steve Weatherford Sr., and other family members visiting for the holidays were inside the home when it caught fire. His son, Steve Weatherford Jr. rescued him and those in the home, went back inside to search for something, but then didn't make it out.
Steve Jr. was visiting from Antioch and we later learned that he planned to propose to his girlfriend on New Year's Eve. To make this tragedy even more profound, Steve Sr. has already endured immense heartbreak in the recent past. His wife passed away four years ago, and now, he faces the unbearable grief of losing one of his sons in such a sudden and tragic way.
In this time of unimaginable sorrow, as their neighbors and along with many others in our neighborhood who wanted to do something, we created this GoFundMe on behalf of Steve and his family. This has been set up to help cover the costs of immediate financial needs and Steve Jr's memorial service. The family will be receiving 100% of your donations.
No one should have to bear the weight of such sorrow alone, especially during the holidays. Every donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in easing their burdens and helping them honor the memory of Steve Jr.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign with others to help provide some relief during this time. Our community is strong, and with your support, we can help Steve Sr. and his family as they begin to heal and rebuild.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and generosity.
