Help Ziyad Fight Brain Tumor – Urgent Prayers Needed

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

Our hearts are shattered as we share the dire situation facing our beloved Ziyad Hashmi; the Founder of the Pakistani Community of Brisbane, who has selflessly served for over 15 years. On Friday 18th Oct, 2024, Ziyad went through a critical 13 hours brain tumor surgery.

Sadly, the surgeons have confirmed that they have been able to remove only 40% of the tumor due to complexity, leaving 60% still inside. We are devastated to share that *Ziyad's second critical surgery is now scheduled for Tuesday, 22nd Oct 2024* , and the risks are heartbreakingly high. God forbid, It can impact his ability to taste, move or worse.

In these moments of despair, we turn to the teachings of the Qur'an. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse thirty-three, Allah says: “And be steadfast in prayer; practice regular charity, and bow down your heads with those who bow down (in worship)”. We learn that giving is rewarded with their Lord, and on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:274).

Ziyad's recovery will be long and filled with many challenges — up to 3-4 years before he is back to full health. His young family (wife and 2 young kids) needs all the support more than ever.
