SAMOTECH ROBOTICS IS NOW SUPPORTED BY A 501c3 CHARITY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT US WITH A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION, PLEASE VISIT OUR NEW GOFUNDME FUNDRAISER (https://gofund.me/4f043292):
Please help fund the SaMoTech Robotics team, a diverse group of high-achieving ninth-grade students who, after a successful year on a middle school FTC team, graduated to a high school without a robotics program. As a result, we have established a new community-based team, determined to build on last season’s accomplishments.
Our Mission
Through participation in the FIRST Tech Challenge, our students will develop hands-on engineering, robotics, and coding skills while improving their self-confidence to become the problem-solvers of the future.
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)
FIRST organizes volunteer-driven robotics competitions involving over 600,000 students in 100+ countries, challenging teams to design, build, and program autonomous and driver-operated robots that compete in head-to-head matches. Each unique season concludes with regional and world championships while participants gain access to educational opportunities, exclusive scholarships, and potential dream employers.
Our Team
SaMoTech comprises core members of last year’s robotics team at John Adams Middle School in Santa Monica. The team enjoyed great success, expanding mid-season to two robots, one finishing 3rd at our SoCal qualifiers against a field of mostly high school students, the other advancing to the Championships in one of FIRST’s most competitive regions. Our members are all hard-working and high-achieving students from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests, each bringing a vital perspective necessary for our success.
Legacy
Your contributions will fund not just SaMoTech’s rookie season but will also provide the foundation for team members to pursue their engineering dreams through all 4 years of high school.
Budget
As our coaches and mentors are entirely volunteer, all money raised will go toward purchasing robotics parts, tools, and a practice field. Our target fundraising goal is the minimum amount needed to compete, if we’re frugal. Additional amounts will help us focus on building and coding, upgrade the robot, and be put toward next year's team.
Thank you so much for any consideration you may give to supporting our team. Any amount helps.
