Support Garden 4 All in establishing the inaugural community gardens of Accra, Ghana!
Garden 4 All (G4A) is excited to develop new endeavors to assist the greater community. G4A’s mission is to educate and support African households in their sustainable production and use of healthy foods while bringing individuals to work together in community. Improving food security and food access for all individuals is a critical issue that we are passionate about. To expand on these efforts we will be initiating community garden pilot projects within various regions in Ghana.
We need your help to expand our community garden projects in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Through the support of community members, we have been able to secure a section of land that will house the inaugural community garden. It will be based within a residential area to ensure accessibility to its members. However, the new garden will require planning, materials, and labor to create a welcoming, usable space. We are hoping that with your support and generosity we can design and build a flourishing garden that can support up to 30 individuals. Your contribution will support the purchase of garden materials such as fencing, tools, seeds, soil, raised bed materials, teaching spaces, childrens garden, tool shed, and much more.
Most recently, we have instituted one community garden in the Cape Coast area, within Ghana, as well as rooftop gardens to support those local to Cape Coast. These projects created successful opportunities both for students and community members. Those engaged in this project have been able to develop agricultural and entrepreneurship skills, and see livelihoods improve. The produce sourced from this garden improves food security access for the community and aids in providing students with an additional source of income to support the students’ educational endeavors.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you. Any bit of donation helps create food justice and self determination for neighborhoods in Accra.
