GRAPHIC IMAGES & DETAILS:

Hi, I'm Supriya, and I am raising funds for one of my dear friends, Vincent Ray Williams III, the founder and CEO of the Urban Compassion Project (UCP). Vincent was unfortunately involved in a near-fatal shooting on the Bay Bridge Friday night, November 18, 2022. See the interview with Vincent here.

Vincent was heading to San Francisco to conduct a wellness check on one of UCP's unhoused clients. At around 10 PM, Vincent drove past the Treasure Island exit. A car swerved back and forth in a highly aggressive manner in the lane adjacent to Vincent. Vincent tried to pass the vehicle. However, the car attempted to push Vincent off the road while shooting at him. Vincent was shot in the head and blacked out.

Somehow Vincent managed to put his car in park. An individual knocked on his window, asking if he was okay. The last thing Vincent remembers is being unable to see, feeling the blood drip down his face, and stumbling out of the car. He fought for his survival.

Miraculously, Vincent woke up in the hospital. The bullet fractured his skull and created internal bleeding across his face. The hospital is still amazed at the rapid pace of Vincent's recovery. He truly is a fighter.

Vincent requested to be released from the hospital because, as an uninsured patient, he feared an outrageous bill. We expect the hospital bill to exceed $150,000 based on estimates we've obtained from medical billing staff.

Without Vincent, Urban Compassion Project does not exist. Vincent currently spearheads the incredible work of UCP. He leads several weekly cleanups, donation drives and distributions to the unhoused.

Vincent has impacted thousands of lives both through his own efforts and by bringing in volunteers from the community to get involved with the organization. His work has been profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle, CBS SF and East Bay Times.

Vincent devotes dozens of hours every week to the mission and purpose of UCP, all without taking a dime. We need to do everything we can to help Vincent on his path to recovery. Any support would be appreciated. The last thing Vincent needs is to worry about medical debt, on top of having to pay monthly rentals, car, food and medical services for his puppies while supporting the endeavors of UCP.

We stand by Vincent as he embarks on this new phase of recovery and relief from the recent terror endured on the Bay Bridge last Friday night.
