Community leader attacked in random road rage

Donation protected

It's easy to describe Jays. He's been a prime example of an altruistic. Since Covid 19 he has spent a majority of his time dedicated to giving back to the community. From organizing food drives, helping the elderly, volunteering to even organizing successful GoFundMe's for others who were in need that lead to headline news, interviews. He's someone who has giving so much and now the tables have turned and is reaching out to the community of Toronto himself.

It was just the other day when Jays decided to get up from bed after not feeling well for some fresh air. He put some food on to cook slow knowing he would be right back. He heads out and doesn't stray far. Only walking about a block and a half before he would make a U turn to get back inside. Waking back to his residence towards the corner of a street, a car swiftly makes a turn almost connecting with Jays He's  shocked,  and watches as the car passes. He doesn't think anything of it and continues walking. That car stopped.  Jason heard a door slam  a tad down the road. When looking back, he was faced with a man holding a metal bat running, swinging at him viscously. He started to run and screaming for "help" the attacker was faster and in seconds Jays  was faced with multiple hits from the bat throwing him down in the middle of the street. As he was being attacked and struck all over his body, he tried his best to stay strong, his screams were loud and there was no ending to the attack. Jays seen the blue lights of a TTC bus coming towards him and during the ordeal he managed to move right in front of the bus,  the bus stopped and the driver opened the door and saved Jays  life. As Jays was brought into the bus the attacker ran off. The bus driver and customers on the bus aided Jason until paramedics and officers could arrive. He was in and out of consciousness. with the results of fractures, server tissue / muscle damage all over his body. Jason faces a long term healing path forward. He is unable to walk, use left arm and leg. It will be some time for things to become stable. Jays  has been suffering mentally from the assault,  He is the  friendliest person, it's terribly sad this has happened.
