Community Project Save Highlands Pond and waterfall
Donation protected
My name is Ruth and I’ve live near Highlands Park Leicester Road New Barnet for Twenty Eight Years.
The gardens have a rich history and I’m trying to save the pond and waterfall area which was built by the Braithwaite Family in 1897, when this was part of their garden attached to a big house, located where the flats are now.
The pond and waterfall area are an example of extremely clever engineering and need to be saved for future enjoyment. This is a very expensive job as the pond is in disrepair and needs a lot of work.
this would need experts to put right.
These gardens are used by families and dog walkers, elderly and people with MH difficulties. People come here to contemplate and when the waterfall was running, would be a source of great peace and comfort for all.
Please help me to raise as much money as possible and then with the council we can restore this beautiful gardens to its former glory and hoping the council can help with the cost
