Mobile showers/clinics for those that have fallen on hard times!

I am a nurse and a health care instructor by profession. However, for over a decade, I (along with my son and mentees) have tried to aide the cries of the homeless; the pregnant mother who constantly worried that she would have her baby taken away, the military veteran that suffered from mental health disparities, or newly 18 yr old child that had no one to help.

15 years ago I moved to Texas for school. One error led to another, and I found myself without a place. I would never forget the first night, I couldn't rest my eyes. It was like living in a horror movie with suspenseful music constantly looped in your head. The temperature was battle in itself. Even though it was Texas, the temperature would drop to low 40s easily (even lower depending on where you slept). I was not on drugs, or any substance. I simply was a new adult, with saved money, no credit and no job. No apartment complex would rent to me and I didn't know anyone. The car I drove to Texas that was full of everything I owned...well, I hydroplaned and the flood swept my car. Of course I didn't have insurance and here I was, alone. Alone (in a state I have never been in), no car, no home, and very little money...

I will never forget those feelings; the feelings of fear, sadness, and hopelessness.
Those feelings are the reason I can't look away when someone may be hungry, or cold.  This is why I have to work around the clock so I can make money to provide for my family and have extra to help as many as I can. So with that experience and my profession, I've offered food, clothing, free surface medical attention, shelter, and hygiene products.
The one thing I heard the most, usually after we break bread, "Now only if I could have a hot shower..." I heard this for years before it clicked.

I devised a plan, and executed it. I created a mobile shower; a person could come to me (or any volunteer), a get free change of clothing, towel, hygiene products, shower, then leave with a meal and resource material. Most importantly, they leave knowing that we, the blessed, still see them and they know we STILL care. Communities stick together, and that is where we have fallen short. Everyone is not on drugs and anyone of us could end up in their shoes at any point. I need help...

By the END of summer 2019, I want to have 10 operable showers. and by the end of summer 2020, I want 35-40 shower clinics and full support from our elected officials.

I spent $2200 on the first shower, on materials alone.  We will be able to cut material cost $200-$400. Tables, chairs, materials for shower, trailers, water tanks, electric water heaters, towels, under garments and labor.

Cost will cover the majority of the initiative, and I will assume  the rest. I know its a lot that I'm asking, but it can be done, it MUST be done.

I cannot go without paying homage to Ronnie Lockett. He was very instrumental with building the showers and materializing my vision. I could not do it without hi. He is a master barber, father, entrepreneur and friend.
