The faculty and staff of NMU’s School of Art & Design kindly ask for your help in supporting the employees of Beth Millner Jewelry.
The recent loss of beloved jeweler, business owner, and community advocate Beth Millner, has left a profound void in our community. A proud alumna of Northern Michigan University’s School of Art and Design, Beth was a talented artist and a passionate supporter of the university and its students. She was a mentor to many, generously sharing her time and expertise both in the classroom and in her studio, inspiring young artists to grow in their craft and pursue their passions. Her jewelry was not only beautifully crafted—it was emblematic of the spirit and character of our area, reflecting her passion, creativity, and kindness. For many, her work symbolized her deep connection to the people and places that make this community unique.
In addition to mourning her loss, her incredible employees are now navigating an uncertain future. They have been the ones greeting us with smiles, helping us choose the perfect adornment, and crafting the beautiful pieces the shop is known for–some of them for nearly a decade. Now, they face not only the emotional impact of losing Beth but also financial challenges as they figure out what comes next.
As a community, we have the opportunity to come together to support these employees and friends during this difficult time. By contributing to a fund, we can help alleviate some of their financial burden, ensuring they have the resources to take care of themselves during this time.
Let’s show the same love and care that Beth brought to our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a step toward giving these employees the stability and support they need.
With gratitude,
The Faculty and Staff of Northern Michigan University’s School of Art & Design
