Community Support for Eric Minton's Healing Process

Hello, my name is Cortnee and I'm raising funds for my coworker, Eric Minton. He is a first responder for the Florence Fire Protection District. He selflessly serves his community as an EMT and is the single dad of two boys. Eric works hard to provide for them and would never ask for help, but he is currently recovering from being shot in the chest in an off-duty incident. We are unable to go into any details due to an on-going investigation. He is expecting a long hospital stay followed by a lengthy recovery until he is well enough to work again. UPDATE AS OF 5/14:

From Eric’s oldest sister-

Eric is still in critical care but making progress. He is conscious and coherent. The bullet fractured into pieces and broke 2 ribs and damaged his right lung. With the pieces stuck in him the risk of removal is too high so he will be monitored closely until further notice. No discharge date insight as of now. Currently he's got a chest tube and had had 3 surgeries so far his lungs keep collapsing.
