Community Support for Fernanda's Memorial

Hello friends and family.

My name is Alex Rodriguez. My mother is Guadalupe Rodriguez and her best friend is Alma Velasquez. Like many others Alma came to the U.S. striving to give her future family a wonderful life. Later she had two amazing daughter's and one joyful young son. A few years passed and Alma become a single mother Alma came ready to work to provide her daughters and son a life that she knew this kids deserved. People have described Alma as one of the hardest workers that they have ever met.

It is with Immense sadness and grief that we share that the passing of her daughter Fernanda Ortiz on August 8th, at the young age of 18. Fernanda had a huge impact on everyone she met. She was always smiling and always made sure to reach out to everyone to help at making there day better in any way she could. Many describe her as Responsible, Caring, and was also known as a truly hard worker, many say it was passed down from her mom. She was loving sister and daughter.

Alma and the rest of her family is now left in shock and despair. As a single mother Alma is now left with planning and paying for a memorial service to celebrate the wonderful life of Fernanda.

My hope is that as a community we can come together to raise funds for Alma to help with the financial burden that they now face with services that are needed during this difficult time.

Mi nombre es Alex Rodríguez. Mi madre es Guadalupe Rodríguez y su mejor amiga es Alma Velasquez. Como muchos otros, Alma llegó a los EE. UU. con el objetivo de brindarle a su futura familia una vida maravillosa. Más tarde tuvo dos hijas maravillosas y un hijo pequeño y alegre. Pasaron algunos años y Alma se convirtió en madre soltera. Alma vino dispuesta a trabajar para brindarles a sus hijas y a su hijo una vida que sabía que estos niños merecían. La gente ha descrito a Alma como una de las personas más trabajadoras que han conocido.

Es con inmensa tristeza y dolor que compartimos el fallecimiento de su hija Fernanda Ortiz que sucedió el 8 de agosto, a la temprana edad de 18 años. Fernanda tuvo un gran impacto en todos los que conoció. Siempre estaba sonriendo y siempre se aseguraba de acercarse a todos para ayudar a mejorar su día de cualquier manera que pudiera. Muchos la describen como responsable, cariñosa y también era conocida como una verdadera trabajadora, muchos dicen que se lo transmitió su madre. Era una hermana e hija cariñosas.y como adolescente tenia mucho suenos y metas. Alma y el resto de su familia ahora están en estado de shock, dolor, tristeza, y sufrimiento Como madre soltera, Alma ahora tiene que planificar y pagar un servicio conmemorativo para celebrar la maravillosa vida de Fernanda.

Mi esperanza es que, como comunidad, podamos unirnos para recaudar fondos para Alma y ayudarla con los gastos finacieros a que ahora enfrenta con los servicios que se necesitan durante estos momentos difíciles
