Community Support for Hoxha Family

As a local social worker and fellow business owner in Dexter….

After hearing news that the wonderful family-owned and operated restaurant, The

Riverview Cafe, is being forced to close due to a lease impasse, we had to do something.

The Hoxha family, originally from Albania, have been serving up quality breakfast and lunch 7 days a week in Dexter for the past decade. They are a true asset to the Dexter community, filling hungry bellies every morning with quality fresh food! They employ family, and all of their children, Geraldo, Julian, and Angelina, are the hardest working young adults I know. They take the time to stop and ask customers about their lives and families, and truly show they care.

Due to landlord complications, they are being forced to cease operations as of 1/6/25 at 3:00 pm. They were not given enough notice to have a plan, and the landlord is not responding to emails or phone calls. However, a new tenant is lined up who will bring in more rental income for the landlord! This situation is truly unjust and unfair.

We aim to come together as a community to support the Hoxha family so they can relocate and continue to cook up delicious meals to help support their family!

This is not just a business; it is their family and their source of income.

Funds collected will be used to support the families monthly expenses including mortgage, car payments, food, college tuition ect. It will also be used to help support their staff who are losing their jobs unexpectedly. If enough funds are collected those can be utilized for relocation of the business. The restaurants last day is 1/6/25 closing at 3:00pm.

Please also considering stopping in tomorrow and Monday as they could use moral support!
