Hello my name is Derk Brown a community activist and a family friend of Sabrina Dunigan the young mother who lost her five children in an apartment fire in East St.Louis. I do have the family permission to start this GoFundMe.
On August, 6th 2021 a heartbreaking tragedy took place in East St.Louis in the 500 block of 29th street were five children we’re killed in an accidental apartment fire in the early morning hours (3am).
A statement made by Sabrina parent’s/father..
Greg Dunigan said he and his wife lived in the same apartment building as Sabrina and her five children. Greg said he and his wife were supposed to be watching the children when Sabrina left to pick up her boyfriend from work around 3am.
Greg Dunigan repeated that account multiple times but added it just so happened we fell asleep. Sabrina returned home that morning to find her apartment filled with smoke and tried her best to save her five children but she was unsuccessful.
On Wednesday, November 3rd 34yr old Sabrina Dunigan, was charged with five felonies.
Sabrina LOVED her babies.
She’s suffered enough and will never be the same.
This GoFundMe was put together to help this young mother during this tough time as she is still grieving the lost of her five children .
The fund’s raised through this GoFundMe will be used to help to this mother get the right counseling/therapy she needs and a new place to call home. Once the goal is reached all donations will be stopped and the funds will be handed over to the mother Sabrina Dunigan.
