Community Support for the Cottons!

We all face circumstances, but sometimes, they're just too much.

Last week, Steven, 39, photographer and small business owner, Tara's husband and Brookie's sweet daddy suffered a major heart attack. Doctors stinted the 95% blockage, known as a widow maker, and saved his life. Still, it's by the grace of God he's here with us. He has two more blockages to contend with and an insane medicine regimen for life.

They had just returned home to begin the healing process when two days later a drunk driver totaled Steven's "dream car" as it sat right in front of the house. These two events follow Steven's recent recovery from his office break-in, where $30k worth of equipment was stolen. He was insured, completed his lease, and has since afforded a move to his new, more secure and more expensive office in Los Gatos. He was in a groove to catch up when the heart attack and totaling of his car occurred.

The medical emergency comes along with bills, the accident by an uninsured motorist leaves them with the deductible to be paid and the hassle of having the car fixed and towed on their own accord, probably a new car payment at much higher interest rates, and his office rent still needs to be paid. Tara has canceled 22 of Steven's appointments, so far, as he's not even allowed to lift a camera. This results in a huge loss of immediate income. Any one of these events one can get through, but all at one time for a small business owner, is too much. They would never ask anyone for help, but I think some may want to as they are such givers to everyone else.

If you share in any community with the Cottons as family, friends, church, school, Girl Scouts, swim, basketball, or work, let's come together to lift them up! If we can help ease a little financial burden, let's do it and show them the love! For all who have sent grocery and food gift cards...they have been heavily relied upon and Tara is so grateful! :)
