Community Support Needed After Brawl Damages Our Cars
Donation protected
Last night, our usually quiet street was caught by surprise when a nearby party spiraled out of control. Over 100 teens flooded the area, began fighting and during the chaos, both of our cars were severely damaged.
The cars — a 2007 Honda Accord and a 2012 Nissan Versa — are likely beyond basic repair, as they are older and not worth as much as they once did. Unfortunately we only have basic liability insurance, so it won’t cover these damages at all. These weren’t luxury vehicles, but they were reliable and essential for our daily life: getting to work, school drop-offs, doctor appointments, everything, as we do have 4 children.
We are doing everything we can to pursue justice through the proper channels, but that process will take time — time we just don’t have. My wife’s anxiety has also been deeply affected by the experience. Seeing our neighborhood in chaos and our property damaged has left her shaken up and uneasy in what should be our safe space.
We’re asking for help raising money to at least get a temporary vehicle and restore a sense of stability. Any amount you give will go directly toward getting us mobile again and helping our family move forward.
Whether you donate, share, or just send some support — we appreciate you more than words can say. Thank you.
