Compassion Needed: Darin for a Path of Stability

I’ve spent the last four plus years dealing with a medical nightmare. The combination of a heart attack, recurrent infections that numerous doctors still can’t pinpoint the source of, and a multiple drug resistant organism infection (also known as a “super bug”) have damaged my mental & physical health significantly. To top it all off, I’m also allergic to a number of antibiotics, so any treatment usually guarantees a hospital admission. With no answers on the infections - let alone a solution to get my health & life back - most of my life is spent in the hospital; in September alone, I was only out of the hospital 13 days out of the whole 30 days of the month. Last year I spent from September to February of this year in a medical facility. I can’t even go a full week without getting readmitted.
These many years of medical conditions have left me unemployable & nearly homeless on multiple occasions. I’ve exhausted all the channels you can think of. The State won’t decide my eligibility for disability pay for another four months at the earliest. Shelters will not accept me due to the infections or the PICC line I sometimes have for treatment. I have to have my own room for both my own health & that of others. I currently have no friends or family in the area that are able to house me near a major hospital (a necessity with how often I’m admitted), and there are no funds to move closer to my immediate family nor do they have access to a major hospital.
Many apartment complexes and landlords are not compassionate to my situation - they only care about proof of income. While I have a funding source for monthly rent, there are no funds for an application fee, a deposit, or first & last month’s rent for an apartment or room. Even with the generous donations I’ve received, that almost always goes to food & transportation to the hospital (transportation taking up the majority of what I try to save). There is no way for me to generate this money without your help. To complicate matters, Go Fund Me does not allow access to any donations until the start of the next month - any donations received this month won’t be available to me until next month.
If you’re able to donate, please know how wholeheartedly I appreciate your love & generosity. Times are tough for many, so it also means a lot just to have you share my story with those you know & on social media where it can reach a wider audience. I truly cannot do this without you & appreciate you all, no matter what support you can provide.
