Complete Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training

Hello! I created this gofundme at the suggestion of a beloved student. I am traveling to Barcelona, Spain for the entire month of September to finally complete my FYFTT. I will be in a DEEP study of yoga daily from 8 to 5, including weekends, for 27 days. I’ve rented an apartment for the month and found 2 fellow trainees to room with me. And while I am so excited to complete this training and have even more skill and juiciness to offer my students, my primary motivation for going is my own healing. Many of you know the work I do in Mendocino county, assisting others in processing their trauma and supporting all people in moving towards peace. The last couple of years have been particularly intense for me, with some profound losses both personally and in our community. In fact, after the loss of my father to COVID in 2021, I completed a 10 day online advanced teacher training with Ana Forrest and her husband, Jose. It gave me the skills I needed to move through that loss with as much grace as possible. I have been attempting to complete the full training online for two years. I finally realized I cannot do this online, I must go and do this in person. I feel compelled to do this for myself, to deepen my own healing and foundation of strength and peace, as well as for all of the people that I serve. Initially I decided not to share this on social media, because I recognize that I’m asking to go do yoga in a foreign country while there are people who cannot pay for basic needs. As a person that grew up in deep poverty, I feel this conflict in my bone marrow. However, as a person who is trying on a life that has grown larger in love, community, healing, and financial blessings than I ever imagined possible, I am practicing being open to the universe supporting the correct actions that I take. I’ve gotten feedback from several dear friends that I need to just trust the universe and go ahead and share it on social media. The healing that I will receive in Barcelona will be profound, and that healing will ripple outward from myself to all of those who I serve in a good way. This is worth asking for support and help.
