Composting for Health & Clean Water

GiveLove.org is raising money to help communities in Uganda, Kenya, and Indian Country in the USA become healthier and more resilient to climate change. Our Go-team and training rockstars are improving public health and protecting water resources from environmental pollution caused by poorly built (and overflowing) pit latrines. And, we're helping families who have never even owned a toilet before.
Can you imagine life without a toilet? It's hard to believe, but over 2.4 billion people lack basic sanitation in their homes and schools. And, over 90% of the world's fecal sludge ends up untreated in the environment. It's more than just gross... it's deadly, and one of the leading causes of water pollution worldwide.
By 2030, almost one-third of humanity will experience extreme water scarcity, so it's time for action!
Sanitation related diseases are the leading killer of children under five, and a major obstacle to improving Global Health outcomes. Water projects are sexy, but not many people really want to talk about toilets — or the massive amount of shit that's polluting the environment. But, we're working to change that with some serious potty talk to raise awareness about this hidden killer.
GiveLove is working with amazing WASH partners and community-based organizations to bring safe sanitation and compost toilets to schools and high-need communities. We've been working hard to promote compost toilets since 2010... in Haiti, Nicaragua, Colombia, Uganda, Kenya, and at Standing Rock — where we built compost toilets for the water protectors— how cool is that!
By teaching people practical skills, and how to manage their own sanitation needs, we're helping to recycle 'wastes' into organic compost that can revitalize depleted soils, and return carbon back to the soil — where it belongs.
Making compost, carbon farming and protecting water resources are some of the best ways for communities to mitigate the impacts of water scarcity and climate change.
Your donation will help teach thousands of school kids and community activists how to build and manage compost toilets. We're working to create regional learning hubs to promote EcoSan solutions through peer-to-peer and community-based learning.
Our work depends on your donations, and every donation adds up — even $5.00!
Your donation is tax deductible (EIN#27-3039187).
