Compton Strong : BEAT Cancer
Donation protected

My Dad, Joel Compton, recently was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, located at the bottom of his esophagus and top opening of his stomach. After seeing many specialist and having multiple tests done, we were informed by Henry Ford Hospital that it is stage 3 cancer. Although it is localized, meaning that it isn't spreading or growing in other areas, we have a long road ahead of us. My father has to have a food pump put into place so he can get the nutrients, because eating and drinking are minimized. In the next couple months we will go through aggressive chemo/radiation treatments and then if all is well, the doctors can operate to remove the cancer in the esophagus and reattach it to his stomach. Seeing my hero in pain and not being able to take it away breaks my heart and my families. My Dad is my best friend, who is always there for everyone, no matter what the circumstance is, he is a very hard working and tender hearted man. He is the only one who works and being out of work because of his cancer can get a bit stressful. I want to do everything I can to help, even if I am three hours away at college. I know he would never ask for anything from anyone, but raising money for my parents would be a blessing and help in so many ways. It may not take the cancer away, but it will make it easier to get through each day knowing we have the money to support our beloved father/husband. "Let your faith be bigger than your fear."
