Computers for Schools in Tanzania
Donation protected
Hi,
This summer, our family will be volunteering at Suji High School, a secondary school with 400 students located in the Pare Mountains near Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.
Suji holds a special place in our hearts — Richard (Dad) taught there in 1993 when he was 18 years old.
How You Can Help
When we asked the school how we could make the greatest impact, they told us they desperately need computers and projectors. Currently, the school has only two laptops for teachers and none for students. They would love to be able to replace their blackboards with projectors and have enough enough laptops for one complete class so their students can learn a little bit about IT. They can install the internet.
We are hoping to provide:
✅ 60 laptops – enough for one computer for each teacher and for a full computer class.
✅ 12 projectors – one for every classroom.
What We Need
We are looking for:
1. Old Laptops and Projectors
If you have an unused laptop or projector, or if your business or school has a surplus, we’d be incredibly grateful. The laptops don't need to be the latest models, anything with more than 2gb of RAM would be a great start.
2. Financial Support
We are looking to raise funds to cover:
• Shipping costs
• Import taxes
• Cables, accessories, and spare projector bulbs
Our Plan
1. We will collect as many projectors and laptops as possible
2. We will configure all the laptops ready for use - Thank you Secret Source for your time
3. We will purchase all the necessary hardware (cables, bulbs etc)
4. We will ship the items out and then help install them while we are there in July
How You Can Make a Difference
If you have a spare laptop or projector — or know of a business or school that could donate — we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us via the contact link below.
If not any donation would be massively appreciated.
Thank you!
