Comrade in Need After a Hit and Run
Donation protected
On the evening of December 21st, Comrade J was taking a walk when he was hit by an unidentified car. The driver was never found and J experienced broken bones in both of his legs, rendering him unable to walk. J thankfully had successful surgeries on both legs, and is being told that he will walk again after about a year of rehab/physical therapy.
Comrade J works in Social Services supporting families on government assistance obtain employment. He also creates curriculum and workshops dedicated to financial literacy, resume development, mental health, parental classes, & human rights in the workplace. While outside of work he volunteers at the Humane Rescue Alliance with cats, dogs, and small mammals. He’s studying International Relations & Global Poverty with the goal of working abroad to support non-profits with projects helping smaller communities. When not involved in the community, he’s a mental health advocate, before the accident an avid hiker and runner, and traveler.
J's limited health insurance isn't covering all the costs that come with his hospital and rehab stays, and he needs funds to help him transition into a new lifestyle. These funds will go towards his medical fees, mental health treatment, lost wages due to not being able to work, and if possible, a deeper investigation into this case.
This gofundme is being organized by J's sister Imani. Updates will be posted on [email redacted] page on Instagram. Thank you to everyone supporting!
